Scytale Cipher Newscast

This group project involved everyone in my shop, Will, Sean, Kaysen, and Maxx. We had to make a newscast on a cipher of our choosing. We chose the scytale cipher. This newscast had to include an introduction, a breaking news/ lead story, an interview, a second story, a commercial, and a wrap-up. Each of us had to have an equal amount of screen time. I was featured in the Interview and the Commercial. I played the Interviewer during the interview and Aphrodite in the commercial.

Before we could start the process of recording the video we had to make scripts. I was in charge of making the script for the interview scene with Maxx, who played Archilochus, the creator of the scytale cipher. I had to include the required content, the time the cipher was created, who created it, and described how the cipher works.

The next part of this project was the hardest, actually recording the video. This process was so excruciatingly long and painful. Many times we forgot our lines or one of us started laughing. Once we finished recording each scene, the video was edited and finished. We even added bloopers to the end of our newscast.

Doing this project involved a lot of teamwork and patience. All five of us worked together to complete the project, meet the criteria, and finish it by the end of the day. We had to be patient with the process of finishing the scripts and researching our cipher. Additionally, we all had to be patient with each other when recording so we could create our best possible newscast.
